I started school last week. I am taking 2 classes - Humanities and Math. I wanted to take 3 classes but was not able to get into ANY of the required English classes. I tried 17 different classes! On-line classes, early morning classes, night classes, this campus, that campus, showing up in person, all to no avail. So, just 2 classes 2 nights a week 3 hours each.
This is a picture of me laying outside the college on the grass reading my first assignment for Humanities. So far I like college. I like having different and new things to occupy my thoughts. For so long dating and playing have been the center of my attention, so this is a welcome change of pace. Even though at this particular pace it may take me 5 years to get a 2 year degree, at least I am in the game! I feel quite proud of myself actually.

If you show up in person, sweet talk the professor, and stick it out for the first 2 class sessions they usually will add you. (fyi next semester)
You don't want to overwhelm yourself, anyway. Are these the first college classes you've taken ever? I think you might need to cancel your CA trip and stay home and study.
Congratulations…and look out as it seems a zombie is reaching out to grab you…
You should be proud of yourself! It's a hard decision to make, but one you won't regret. I'm half way though and I'm happy I did, even those times when I'm screaming obscenities over my math classes.
Latent Image - Thanks for the advise. I tried the showing up thing but I guess I just need to be more persistent.
Kel - I took one semester right after HS like 10 years ago so this is pretty much starting over for me! No way I'm canceling my trip though! I'll be the girl at the beach with a Corona in one hand and a text book in the other!
Helmey - Will you protect me from the Zombie?
Sarah - Thanks for the encouragement and it's nice to know I am not alone.
Uhhh...just FYI....you can't drink at the beach. It's illegal. Stupid kids that cause riots. San Diego was the last place in SoCal you could drink on the beach, but that ended a few months ago. And we are not AT ALL BITTER....
Way to go girl! I might add that you pull off the "brainiac" look really well!
